LUDFORD, LUCY MARY MADELINE It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucy Ludford (nee Sayles) on January 19th, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 1st, 1929 in Juniper and was the daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Rideout) Sayles. A teacher and a nurse in training, she resided the rest of her life in Fredericton. In July 1952 she met and married Fred Ludford and they together established several prominent businesses in the Fredericton area, one of which was Fred's Pancake House where she was a very familiar face. She is survived by her four children Richard (Donna), Bryant (Nancy), Debbie Poisson (Ken), Kelly Smith (Chris); twelve grandchildren Sarah, Dennison, Patrick, Megan, Marcie, Morgan, Miranda, Shannon, Nicole, Jocelyn, Dru, Katelyn; one great grandchild Hailey; one brother Lewis Sommerville (Patsy); two sisters Dorothy Carr (Harold) and Helen Depow (Bill) ; two sisters-in-law Aulda Yerxa and Maxine Wheeler-Ludford, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Fred; four sisters Violet Defeu, Lillian Wilson, Madeline Seymour and Audrey Barton. The family will receive friends at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday from 2-4pm. A private service will be held.
