JOHN LESTER SR. PALMER

PALMER, JOHN LESTER SR. John L. Palmer of Maplewood, NB. passed away at his home on January 21, 2006. Born in Maplewood in 1930 he was the son of the late Joseph and Cynthia (Briggs) Palmer. For a number of years John did woods work, then worked as a machine operator at McCains, after leaving McCains he spent many years doing carpenter work before he retired. John had many interests which included hunting, fishing, and knitting. He was an associate member of the Millville Legion Branch 59. John is survived by three daughters, Judy Palmer, Maplewood, Shirley Smith (Murray), Greenfield, NB, Linda Stilwell (Danny), Hainesville; four sons, John (Barb) Calgary, Alberta, Billy (Freda), Maplewood, Fred (Peggy), Grand Bay, Dale (Tracey), Calgary, Alberta; ten brothers, Weldon (Patty), Millville, Reggie (Patsy), Maplewood, George (Connie), Fredericton, Joe (Sandra), Fredericton, Franklin (Adeline), East Brighton, Frank (Darlene), Maplewood, Haldean (Kerry), Plaster Rock, Norman (Carole), Maplewood, Garry (Debbie), Zealand, Larry (Elaine), Temperance Vale; three sisters, Annie Carpenter, Cambridge Narrows, Rita Palmer, Hamilton, Ontario, Inez Sarchfield (Stanley), Knowlesville, NB; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A friend of the family Vesta Garfield of Grand Bay. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, two infant sons, Joseph and Dale Palmer and three nephews, Alan (Barney) Palmer, Adam and Kevin Morehouse. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Tuesday, January 24, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Cooney officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Hawkins Corner Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of John, the family has suggested The Hawkins Corner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be brothers Joseph, George, Haldean, Franklin, Garry, and Larry. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers Weldon, Norman, Frank, and Reggie. www.flewellingswan.com
