THELMA GRACE GJERLEVSEN
GJERLEVSEN, THELMA GRACE The death of Thelma Grace Gjerlevsen, wife of the late Laurids Gjerlevsen, occurred on Friday, January 27, 2006 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born in Malpeque, PE she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Alice (Clark) Woodside. Thelma was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fredericton. Thelma is survived by one daughter, Janet Hale of Fredericton, NB; one son, Garth Gjerlevsen of Brockville, ON; two grandsons, Christian of Kingston, ON and Shane (Tanya Lemaire) of Ottawa, ON; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Thelma was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche Carter and Amy Clark; three brothers, Roy, Clark and Frank Woodside. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Thelma will be remembered as a woman who loved her family, her church, her friends, her pets, gardening and needlework. She loved and wrote poetry, acted in some amateur productions and was pleased to have met Lucy Maude Montgomery. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30th , 2006 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Brad Little officiating. Pallbearers are Douglas Ashfield, Laurel McNeill, Charles Tramble, Ivan Buote, Reuben Haskell and Harry Gilmore. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be George Woodside, Leith Clark, Lowell Clark and Donald Rogers. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the First Congregational Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
