WALTER GILBERT BOONE

BOONE, WALTER GILBERT Walter Gilbert Boone passed away at home in Ripples on Sunday, January 29, 2006, in his 83rd year. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Helen and Hazen Boone. His early years were spent working as a fireman and then later as a brakeman for the CPR, running between Saint John and McAdam. After a long service with the federal government (Acadia Forestry), Walter retired at age 62. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by son Glendon, brothers Fred, Albert (Ab), George (Bus), and sister Hazel Finnegan. Survived by wife Laura, sons George (Kim), Arthur (Emma), Bob (Florence), daughters Bonnie (Jim) Girouard, Nancy (Vince) Chisholm, Bev (Gerry) Richardson, sister Joyce Allen, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Walter's love of music carried over to this family. He was self-taught in guitar, fiddle, banjo, accordion, piano and his gift was enjoyed by many. Besides his music, Walter will be remembered as a hard worker, wonderful gardener, great provider and a devoted husband and dad. In life Walter was a private person. In death, to respect his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490)
