Date de décès : 25 mai 2008
Dennis Wayne Petersen passed away on May 25th, 2008, after a valiant battle with cancer. Dennis was born February 10th, 1946 and grew up in Moose Jaw. He enjoyed army cadets as a boy, as a teen the militia and as a young man he entered the Canadian Army. Dennis served with the United Nations Peace Keeping troops in Cyprus. On his return to Moose Jaw, he worked as the Superintendent of Transportation for a rural school division. The safe transport of the students was important to Dennis. Not only in his own division but across the province. Dennis was one of the founding members of the Student Transportation Association of Saskatchewan and held office until his retirement. He continued to help until illness prohibited him from continuing. In retirement, Dennis spent many happy hours in his woodworking shop. Family members were recipients of beautiful hand crafted furniture. Dennis and Ardelle were able to do some traveling and also spend time with the family. Dennis was always a "family man", spending many summers at the lake with his children and later taking his grandchildren camping. Dennis was so proud of his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Dennis was predeceased by his grandson Dawson; step-father Victor Eastmond; in-laws Harold and Myrtle Grange. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Ardelle of Moose Jaw, two sons, Terry (Wanita) and Michael (Claire) all of Medicine Hat, Alta; his pride and joy the grandchildren, Tianna and Logan. He will also be mourned by his mother Evelyn of Moose Jaw; two brothers Ken of Quesnel, B.C. and Les (Donna) of Mortlach, Sask. In keeping with Dennis' wishes, a Private Graveside Service will be held. Friends are invited to a Memorial Tea on Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Funeral Home.
