MARY C. (KEENAN) JOHNSTON

JOHNSTON, MARY C. (KEENAN) Mary C. (Keenan) Johnston, 61 years old, of Quincy, Massachusetts passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006 at home after a brief illness. Mrs. Johnston has lived in Quincy since 1973. She was born in Houlton, Maine, raised and educated in Woodstock, New Brunswick. She was a graduate of Woodstock High School, Class of 1962 and was also a 1965 graduate of the Saint Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Saint John, New Brunswick. Mrs. Johnston was a registered nurse. She worked three years in Montreal, Quebec before moving to Boston in 1968. During her career, she had worked at several Boston area hospitals including the New England Deaconess Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, cross country and downhill skiing and biking. Wife of William H. Buchan and the late John Dennis Johnston. Mother of Kevin John Johnston of Quincy, Massachusetts. David Edmund Johnston of Los Angeles, California Julie Ann Johnston of North Quincy, Massachusetts. Survived by one granddaughter Mattison Johnston. Daughter of Irene (Cronin) Keenan and the late Alvin Keenan of Woodstock, NB. Sister of Susan St. Hilare (Paul) of Westford, Mass Grace Keenan, M.D. (David Baxter) of Paeonian Springs, VA. Terry Keenan (Diana) of Hartford, Conn. Raymond Keenan ( Betsy) of Souris, PEI, Alvin Keenan (Nancy) of Souris, PEI, Kenneth Keenan of Woodstock, NB. Also survived by many nieces and nephews Besides her father, Alvin Keenan (Sept. 21, 2000) , her first husband John Johnston (July 20, 2000) she is predeceased by brothers David Keenan (1982) and Philip Keenan (1943). Family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Culberson Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, NB. Visiting Hours were held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy on Tuesday, February 07, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
