TUFTS, GORDON IRWIN At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday February 5th, 2006, G. Irwin Tufts of Fredericton passed away. He was 78. Born in Fredericton NB, he was a son of the late Guy & Elizabeth (Gorman) Tufts and husband of the late Florence Miriam (Pond) Tufts. A civil servant with the province of NB, Irwin was Adherent to Grace Memorial Baptist Church & was very actively involved in minor hockey in the Fredericton area, as well as being a founding member of the Fredericton Branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association. Irwin is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by 2 sons, Gordon Tufts & Irene Cake of Winnipeg Manitoba, Allison Tufts wife Cathy of Brampton Ontario, one daughter Patricia Hughes husband Andrew of Fredericton, granddaughters Erin Tufts & Jillian & Abby Hughes, 1 great-grandson Zackery Breau as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he is predeceased by 2 sisters, Patsy Tufts & Leota Nason, 1 brother Elmore Tufts. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road with visitation from 3:30 - 5 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday with the funeral service at 2 PM on Thursday February 9th from Grace Memorial United Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
