Alvin Okerman (February 9, 1915 - May 29, 2008) Alvin passed away at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital on May 29, 2008. He was born at Expanse, Saskatchewan to Anna and Julius Okerman. Alvin married Wilma Gardiner in 1948 and they had 59 _ wonderful years. The couple farmed the original Okerman farm until 1975 at which time they moved to Assiniboia. In 2002 they moved to Victoria Towers in Moose Jaw where he resided until his passing. Alvin was predeceased by his parents and step-mother, Alma, his brother, Gunnar and sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Swan Lundell, sister-in-law, Yvonne Okerman; nieces: Sonja Lundell and Marilyn Okerman, and great-niece, Krista Utley. Alvin is survived by his wife, Wilma, brother, Les; sisters-in-law: Joan Okerman and Margaret Gardiner, several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Prairie Gardens, Congress, Saskatchewan. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening, 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 - 8th St. E., Saskatoon, S7H 0S5 or Emmanuel Prairie Gardens, Box 405, Assiniboia, S0H 0B0.
