CHALIFOUR, JEAN PAUL January 5, 1920 - February 17, 2006 It is with sadness that we announce the death of Jean Paul Chalifour, which took place at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on February 17th, 2006. Born in Montreal on January 5th, 1920, the son of Arthur Edgar Chalifour and Alphonsine (Plouffe) Chalifour. Brother of Rolande Leduc (predeceased) and Lucien Chalifour (predeceased), Marie Bachand and Suzanne Guerand all of Montreal. Paul served in the RCAF until honorable discharge with rank of Flight Sergeant, 1941-1945. He graduated McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1951. As a Chartered Accountant he managed the Edmundston Office of Touche Ross and Associates and was the general manager of Kings Landing Historical Settlement from 1979 until his retirement in 1989. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Jane Elizabeth Magarvey of Saint John, NB. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Rowan) Chalifour; sons, Arthur Paul (Renee) of Cranbrook, BC and Robert James (Lorraine) of Montreal; daughters, Mary Alice of Fredericton and Suzanne Joyce (Robert Chenier) of Ottawa. Proud grandfather of Shuca Diorio (Derik) of Ottawa, Mindy Leigh Magarvey and Kimberly Ann Magarvey of Saint John, Ani Chenier and Alexis Chenier of Ottawa, Alanna Chalifour of Montreal and Sula Jane Chalifour of Fredericton and great-grandfather of Ella Diorio of Ottawa. There will be no visiting by family request. A memorial service will be held later in the spring. In his memory, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation.
