Dora Minion -Horvath (Nee Bates) It is with our greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Dora . Our beloved angel has gone to heaven to light the pathway and prepare a home for the rest of her family. She was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on November 21, 1956. Dora passed away on July 4, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dora was predeceased by her husband Ron Minion on June 3, 2008. She is survived by her son Imre Justin Horvath, father Elgin Bates (Fran) of Milo and mother Millicent Joy Dyck of Calgary. Dora is also survived by her sisters Debbie Lougheed (Gary Sitter) of Moose Jaw, Donna Lawrence (Ed) of Calgary, Darlene Bates (David Dice) of Medicine Hat, brothers Dan Bates (Kim) of Chestermere and Darrel Bates (Elaine) of Calgary and very special friends Jeannie and Rene Briere of Calgary, as well as Chad, Lacey and Autumn. Dora is also survived by nieces and nephews Sean (Kathy) Lougheed, Michele (Eddy) Toomey, Jason and Jennifer Lawrence, Ashley and Mitchell Bates, Braden and Dana Bates, Shawna, Christopher and Nicole Bates, Taunya Horvath and her children Sasha and Reilly, Nathan (Nicole) Horvath and children Alaska and Natasha, as well as many more nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dora had a great love for all her dogs, which were a large part of her life. She will be sadly missed by all those lives she has touched. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, July 7, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Leyden's Funeral Home (corner of 17th Avenue and 2nd Street SW). A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Leyden's Chapel of Remembrance.
