Staples, Elwood "Earl" 1921-2008 God saw him getting tired, a cure was not to be. So He wrapped him in His loving arms and whispered: "Come with Me". He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend. He faced his pain with courage until the very end. He tried so hard to stay with us his fight was all in vain. God took him to His loving home and freed him from all pain. On July 7, 2008 Elwood "Earl" Staples passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years. Earl was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and is survived by his wife Claudia, children Eva (Bill) Ayukawa, Ron (Elaine), Brenda (Kevin) O'Neill, Holly (Brian) Lonsdale, Wesley (Colette), and Howard (Laura), brother Cecil (Marjorie), grandchildren Lisa (Walter) O'Neill, Kevin (Myrisa) O'Neill, Brian (Alison) O'Neill, Robert (Susan) Davis, Sheryl (Mike) Staples, Michael and Dylan Staples, 9 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his son Thomas. In keeping with Earl's wishes cremation has taken place and no Memorial Service will be held. His final resting place will be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park.
