Beryl Grace (nee O'Gorman) Stewart
Date de naissance : 12 août 1921
Beryl Grace Stewart (nee O'Gorman) born August 12, 1921 in Darlington County Durham, England, passed away in Regina on Sunday, July 6, 2008. Educated in England she took Psychiatric Nursing and in World War II she trained Convoy Lorry drivers. When she immigrated from England in 1955 she worked at Moose Jaw General Hospital and then moved on to work at the Moose Jaw Clinic for a variety of doctors until 1965 when she met and married the love of her life, Allan and moved out to the farm at Kelstern, Sk until they moved to Regina in 1974. Beryl was involved in the Royal Purple and Daughters of the Nile. Her beautiful voice was lent to many occasions from weddings to various ceremonial events. Beryl enjoyed the many vacations her and Allan took to the U.K., Alaska, Phoenix, Hawaii, California, the East Coast and traveling the highways and byways of Saskatchewan with the "Gopher" Trailer Club. From the time she left England her and her best friend Lydia wrote daily especially on the updates of Coronation Street! She was thrilled to bits when in 1965 her first grandchild Kerrie was born and again in 1967 when her second grandchild Shauna was born. In 1991 Beryl suffered a stroke and this eventually caused her to spend the last years of her life at Sunset Extendicare. Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Harry Glasby. Beryl is survived by her husband Allan Stewart of Regina; her brother, Jim (Joan) Salmon of Portsmouth, England; sister Hilda Lougheed of Eyebrow, SK; daughters Jacqueline Walter of Okotoks, AB, Louisa J. L. DeSausmarez of Guernsey, Channel Islands; granddaughters, Kerrie Walter of Okotoks, AB and Shauna Walter of Burnaby, BC; great grandchildren, Willow Grace and Zachary Allan of Burnaby, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com She had gone across the river To the shore of ever green, And we long to see her dear face But the river flows between. Some day, sometime, we shall see The face we loved so well, Some day we'll clasp her loving hand And never say farewell.
