Isabella (Isabelle) McPherson Donaldson:

Isabella (Isabelle) McPherson For those who remember, for those who forget, and for those who just didn't know. There was a time when babies were born at home, families were eight or more, there was always only one home, and mother was always there, and dad provided, there was discipline and values, there were traditions, there was a vegetable garden, everyone sat for dinner, everyone helped, school was a ten mile walk, it was hard to save a nickel, jobs lasted until retirement, people cared. Isabelle Donaldson was of such times and now she is gone leaving behind her stories and memories. She passed away Tuesday, July 1st at Surrey Memorial Hospital, Surrey B.C. at the age of 93, surrounded with the love of her niece and nephews. Isabelle was born in Sutherland Saskatchewan, April 6th, 1915. Her family home was on Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw from 1918 till 2002 when her family moved her to Vancouver where she lived out her remaining years with nephew John and wife Amy. In her younger years she also resided in Prince Albert and Shellbrook. Her career took her from the Capital, Orpheum and Golden West drive-in theatres and finally to the role of senior secretary, a position she held for over 20 years at the Canadian Military Air Force Base in Moose Jaw from where she retired. She is predeceased by her sisters Beth (George) Jeanette (Andy), brothers Robert, Tommy and John (Betty), great-great-niece Madison Taylor. Isabelle was a strong minded independent woman who understood people, politics and the purpose of life. She enriched the lives of the many people she touched and dedicated her life to the happiness and well being of her family. Family was always welcome in her home. She is survived by her niece Leslie (Paul) Taylor; nephews Larry (Phyllis) Donaldson, John (Amy) Donaldson, George Jr. Christy; great-nieces and nephews Paul, Lori, Travis, Melissa, Johnny, Chris; great-great-niece and nephew T.J. and Isabella. We all loved her with all our hearts and we will miss her dearly. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot at ROSEDALE CEMETERY sometime next year. She is coming home GOD BLESS
