Thompson, Harvey John Passed away in his sleep on July 10th, 2008 at the age of 91. Harvey was born in Moose Jaw to Sarah & Andrew Thompson. He lived on the family homestead in the Tuxford area with six brothers and eight sisters. Harvey is predeceased by his parents, five brothers, seven sisters, sons Michael and John and close friend Dona Horton. Harvey is survived by his daughter Janet (Jim) Carr, granddaughters Joanne (Chris) Landry, Jackie (Mitch) Paulson, Jody Carr (Chris Hack) and their families, all of Moose Jaw. Daughter-in-law Gloria Thompson of Regina, grandchildren Deb (Lee) Lane, Duane Thompson and their families all of Balgonie. Sister Margaret McNab, brother Merlin Thompson both of Moose Jaw, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins scattered across Canada and the USA. Harvey served in the army in England from 1940-1945. After his return he became a fire fighter for the city of Moose Jaw in 1946. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1974, and retired in 1980. Harvey enjoyed his job and his many co-workers. He will be remembered by all for his keen sense of humor and sly smile. The family wishes to thank all the staff and volunteers at Pioneer Housing (Lodge & Village) in Moose Jaw for the wonderful care and attention that they gave to Harvey during his final years. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 14th, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Box 102, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK, S7N 0W8.
