BREWER, ROBERT ERNEST Mr. Robert Ernest Brewer, 80 years old, resident of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bethammi Nursing Home on Saturday, April 1, 2006. He was born June 24, 1925 in Burtts Corner, New Brunswick. Bob served overseas in WW II. He married Freda (Anderson) in 1956, and on April 7th would have celebrated 50 years together. Bob worked for Ontario Hydro for over 35 years. After his retirement in 1983 he enjoyed golfing, reading, watching Sports (especially Montreal Canadiens), playing cards with the gang, and spending time with his family. Bob and Freda enjoyed many winters in Florida. Bob was a member of the Ortona Legion Br. 113. Bob is survived by his wife Freda and son Rob (Sheila) of Thunder Bay, his grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Meservia and Kevin all of Thunder Bay. His brother Mike (June) of Burtts Corner, New Brunswick, brother-in-law Robert Burtt of White Fish, Ontario, his sister-in-law Sophie Law of Regina, Saskatchewan, Needa Johnson of Pincher, Alberta and Ruby George of Surry, British Columbia as well as many nieces and nephew also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Donovan and Ena Brewer, sister Margaret Burtt, and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethammi Nursing Home 2nd floor for caring for Bob these past 7 years, especially during his last couple of days. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Jenkens Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 11 a.m. a private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethammi Nursing Home or the charity of your choice.
