BETTS, ROLLAND JUSTUS Rolland Justus Betts passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2006 at his home where he was born in Nelson Hollow, N. B. at the age of 92. He was the husband of the late Yvonne (Carr) Betts. He was the son of the late Justus and Etta (Weaver) Betts. Rolland was a retired woods worker, mill worker and farmer. He was a past Trustee of the Doaktown United Baptist Church and a former member of the Doaktown United Baptist Cemetery Committee. He is survived by one son, David Betts of New Westminster, BC, three daughters, Lillian (Claude) Russell of Doaktown, N. B., Audrey (Keith) Arbeau of Fredericton, N. B., Ida (David) DuPlessis of Douglas, N. B., one step-daughter Beatrice Delores (Walt) Scheidl of Calgary, AB., eight grandchildren Michael Price, Mark (Tena) Price, Todd Betts, Pamela (Michael) Porter, Jeffrey (Sophie) Arbeau, Jason DuPlessis, Julie DuPlessis and Jeremy Duplessis; six great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren Larry, Jackie, Christopher, Jamie and Tony Parker; several step great-grandchildren, one brother Sterling (Mary) Betts of Doaktown, N. B., one sister Mary (Robert) O'Donnell of Kingston, ON., and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by seven sisters; Annie Morehouse, Olive Lyons, Ethel Mersereau, Mabel Brown, Vida Mitchell, Vivian Ross and Vera Brown; five brothers, David, Harold, Holland, Bert and Lloyd Betts and five step grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Rte. 8, New Bandon, N. B. on Monday, May 1 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A funeral service will be held at the Doaktown United Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 2 at 2PM with Rev. Peter Valji officiating. Burial will follow at the United Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Michael Price, Mark Price, Todd Betts, Jeffrey Arbeau, Jason DuPlessis and Jeremy DuPlessis.
