SMITH, B. DEAN The passing of Blair Dean Smith of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 30, 2006. He was 75. Born in Moncton, NB on May 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Blair and Edith Mae (Hyslop) Smith. Dean was a member of the Marysville Baptist Church and was an Electrical Technical Supervisor at U.N.B. where he was employed for 30 years. Dean is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Irene C. (Leaman) Smith; he was a dear and cherished father of five children, Claude (Paula) Smith of Saint John, Madeline (Benedict) Underhill of Fredericton, Joanne (Richard) Brown of Lower Queensbury, Roxanne (Doug) Hemming of Fredericton and Michele Smith (Rob) of Fredericton; lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Hanson (John), Tracey Little, Jeffery Smith (Bobbie Leigh), Patrick Underhill (Andrea), Krista Sain (Kelly), Melissa Brown, Julie Brown (Brandyn), Megan Hemming, D.J. Hemming and Shannen Hemming and his 5 great grandchildren, Tristen Little, Shayla Hansen, Colten Little, Evyn Hansen and Brayden Sain; also survived by a sister Shirley Dickinson of Alberta; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents, a son Rickie and brothers Leslie and Garnet. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, where visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Marysville Baptist Church on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating assisted by Rev. David DuBois. Interment in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be four grandchildren, Jennifer, Tracey, Jeffery and Patrick. The family have suggested memorial contributions be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
