Mr. Jack Eccleston of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mary Eccleston, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on June 24, 2008, one week before his 92nd birthday. Besides his loving wife Mary, Jack was predeceased by his parents Margaret and James and 3 brothers Jimmie, Robert and Donald. Jack is survived by his 3 children, Sharron (George) Nyhoff, John (Irmgard) Eccleston and Janice (James) Pritchard. Jack will be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins Jean and Margaret Routledege of Glasgow Scotland, and brother-in-law Albert Lister of Moose Jaw, SK. Jack was born in Brandon, MB on July 2, 1916. He apprenticed with his father in Moose Jaw as an electrician. Jack married the love of his life, Mary Lister, on September 23, 1939 and was then immediately stationed in England and Italy for the duration of WWII. He was always very proud of his 22 years of active and militia service for his country. Jack and Mary made Lethbridge their home for the last 52 years. They were active in many areas of McKillop United Church for years and developed many strong community ties. They owned and operated Eccleston's Television Repair Shop prior to Jack's employment at Sears. During retirement, Jack and Mary enjoyed many world travels together. A Celebration of Jack's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2008 at McKillop United Church, 2329 - 15 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Cathy Coates officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Lethbridge, 426 - 5 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 2B7 or to the charity of your choice.
