Mae Booth (nee Dreger) With dignity and courage Val Booth, beloved wife, step mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend, peacefully surrendered her spirit on July 19th, 2008 at the age of 49. Val loved life, lived well and fought bravely for every moment she could get. Val was born May 19th, 1959 in Moose Jaw, SK, the oldest of 4 children born to May and Herbert Dreger. She attended Empire School and Riverview Colligate and was very athletic in her younger years. Playing fastball was one of her joys and her teams went on to win several provincial championships. She loved the outdoors and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She enjoyed gardening and you could tell by her gardens that her favorite place was her backyard. Scrapbooking was also a favorite pastime and she made albums for her brother and sisters. Her favorite times were going for lunch with the girls and more often than not it would last until supper time. In 1983 she met the love of her life Larry in Moose Jaw. They married in 1985 and have been a pair ever since. She was most proud of her motorcycle and going for a blast was a very special thing for her. Val also had a love for animals and her 4 cats "Team Canada" as she called them held a very special place in her heart. Val was predeceased by her dad, Herb Dreger in 2003. She will be missed by her beloved husband Larry; step children, Christopher and David and granddaughters, Emma and Izabelle; mother, May of Moose Jaw; brother, Randy (Christine) Dreger and their children Jesse, Aaron and Bruce of Lloydminster; sisters, Darlene (Alex) Knittel and their daughter, Alexis; Wendy (Grant) Chubb; uncles and aunts, Adeline, Harold, George, Betty, Roy, Sharon, Gloria, Bob, Margaret, Ed, Betty, Katie, Erna, Walter, Deloris, Bob, Isabell and Nelly; cousins, Butch, Richard, Doug, Linda, Paula, Theresa, Pamela, Patricia, Bobby, Lorie, Robbie, Michelle, Rory, Chad, Lindi, Shelly, Bonnie, Grant, Cheryl, Larry, David, Jason, Mark, Debbie, Gary, Lynn, Barb, Stanley, Mona, Brian, Carl and Karen as well as many friends. Val especially held in high regard her friendship with the Hells Angels and Freewheelers. She will always be remembered and admired for her strength of character and her perseverance in the face of adversity. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 2:00 p.m. from the Royal Canadian Legion Hall (17th Street W. and Spadina Crescent W.) Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit (1702 20th Street W. Saskatoon, SK S7M 9Z9).
