RONALD JOSEPH GASTON

GASTON, RONALD JOSEPH Mr. Ronald Joseph Gaston of 510 Main Street, Doaktown NB, passed away early Sunday morning at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, at the age of 68. Born in Doaktown NB, he was the son of the late William & Lucy (Robinson) Gaston. He was a retired mill manager of Repap. He was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, Doaktown. Ronald's special interest were singing, songwriting, and performing. He was inducted into the Miramichi Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame where he served as president. He is survived by six sisters; Margaret Hovey of Doaktown; Elizabeth Neess (Ove) of Doaktown; Shirley Harkness (William) of Ontario; Sharon Clowater (Merv) of Doaktown; Eleanor Gilks (Evelock) of Blissfield; Joanne Gaston (friend Mike) of Fredericton; five brothers; William of Blissfield; Morissey (Exelda) of Miramichi; Edward (Glenna) of Doaktown; Wilfred (Jeanette) of Doaktown; Beverley (Linda) of Fredericton; sister-in-law; Lona Gaston. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers; Floyd & Robert; sisters-in-law; Roberta Gaston & Deanna Gaston; brother-in-law; Wilson Hovey. Mr. Ronald Joseph Gaston will be resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Monday evening from 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 3 p.m. from Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, with Father Mark Trzop officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Blissfield. At the request of the family donations to Our Lady of Annunciation Building Fund, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated. Please note members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 are asked to assemble at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:15 p.m. for a memorial service and members of Doaktown Knights of Columbus Council 6404 are asked to assemble at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. for a memorial service.
