ALVIN MILTON SCOTT
SCOTT, ALVIN MILTON The passing of Alvin Milton Scott, husband of Anne (Gradley) Scott, of Boiestown, NB, occurred on July 6, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 23, 1922 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Harvey and Sarah (Stickney) Scott. Alvin was a veteran of World War II, serving in England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He also served in the Korean War, and with the United Nations in Korea and Egypt. He served a total of 25 years with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. Later he worked for 15 years at the UNB Physical Plant. He was a member of the Forestry Corp, and of the Royal Canadian Engineers. Alvin enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the Miramichi, which was his passion. Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by two sons, Alvin (Linda) Scott of Saint John and Paul (Joan) Scott of Oromocto; one daughter, Valerie (Keith) Adams of Sarnia, ON; daughter-in-law, Louisette Scott; six grandchildren, Chantale (Stephen) Hofman, Karen (Dan) Baillie, Kevin (Penny) Scott, Craig and Shawn Adams and Kristina Scott; six great grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Hofman, Taylor and Tanner Adams, Connor and Regan Scott; one brother, Douglas Scott of New Maryland, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Upon Alvin's request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 3 pm with Pastor Robert Hanson officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to assemble at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Saturday for the service.
