SANDWITH, H. LLOYD H. Lloyd Sandwith - 69, Halifax. The family of Lloyd Sandwith regret to announce his passing on July 22, 2006, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Stanley, N.B., he was a son of the late Howard and Cora (McLean) Sandwith. Lloyd worked at CIBC from the age of 17. His first position with the bank was as a clerk in Stanley, N.B. He rose through the ranks of CIBC and obtained the position of Bank Manager in Nassau, Bahamas, where he was married to Hallie. Later transfers took him to Campbellton, N.B., Belloram, N.L., Greenwood, and finally Halifax, where he worked for 30 years. After his retirement he enjoyed completing the rebuilding of the family cottage in Jemseg, N.B. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Sandwith, Halifax; sons, Stephen Sandwith, Fredericton; Eric Sandwith, Alberta; brothers, Lowell (Ginnie), Manitoba; Glen (Debby), Alberta; Stanley, Calgary; sisters, Roberta (Ron) Arnold, Alberta; Patricia Matin, British Columbia; Betty (John) Oxner, Alberta. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Halliday (McKnight); brothers, Gordon and Donald Sandwith. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove, Halifax, Rev. Jane Clattenburg officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial at a later date in the Anglican cemetery in Tay Creek, N.B. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
