Mr. William Thomas (Russ) Ward of Moose Jaw, passed away on Monday August 18, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Russ was born at Loreburn, SK on January 11, 1921. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserves from 1941 until 1946. After discharge he returned to Moose Jaw to work with the Canadian Pacific Railway Co. and for CGTX Incorporated until his retirement as superintendent in 1983. Upon his retirement he served in many executive capacities with the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans. Russ served as Dominion President of the ANAVETS during the Canada Remembers Celebrations and traveled the world representing the Club at this time. Russ was a true gentleman's gentleman and will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Predeceased by his daughter Wendy, Russ will always be remembered by Ruth, Ginger, Terri, Stacy, Scott, Robin and Steven and their families. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday August 23, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Padre Doug Shepherd will officiate. Army, Navy & Airforce Veteran's Rites will be conducted by Dave Eamon. Interment will follow at the Veteran's Section, Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday evening 7 - 9 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorials to the Shriners Patient Transportation Fund, c/o Wa Wa Shrine, 2065 Hamilton St., Regina, S4P 2E1, would be appreciated.
