Ruth Evelyn Nelson (nee Anderson) on August 13, 2008, Ruth Evelyn Nelson passed away at the age of 84 years. Ruth was born on February 27, 1924 in Courval, Saskatchewan. She moved to Vancouver in 1947 and lived in Kamloops, Prince George and Calgary throughout a period of 20 years, only to return to Vancouver to enjoy a long and pleasurable retirement. The most important thing in Ruth's life was her husband, Rolly and her family. Ruth's memory will be cherished by her husband of 60 years, Roland, daughters Renora Munro of Athabasca, Joanne (Ian) Hewlett of Prince George, Christine (Tony) Riedner of Calgary and son Randy (Kathleen) Nelson of Red Deer. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Erin (Ian), Alex, Stacey, Colin (Kerrianne), Ryan (Carla), Adam and Janine and her 3 great-grandchildren Rylee, Eric and Lauren. Ruth was predeceased by her mother Annie, father Robert, step-father Russell, brothers Ken and Gordon and son-in-law Alex. Ruth's life's work shone through in her love and devotion for Rolly and their family. A celebration of Ruth's life was held on Monday, Aug 18, 2008 in Surrey, B.C.
