ZAPPIA, JOAN (GREENOUGH) April 28, 1942 - October 18, 2006 Pictured here with her first and only grandchild, Matteo. He was the sunshine in her last cloudy days. Joan will join in heaven, her parents, Leonard and Rita, brother Tom and dear aunt Junie. She leaves behind three children, Anna, Joey and Lenny. Her closest friend and caregiver Elaine Roberts and their extended family, Ronnie, Neil and Abby. Joan will also be missed by her siblings, Ann, Beth, Marcia, Linda, Kathy, Jim, David, Paul and Cam. Her professional life as a registered nurse, nursing home administrator and standards officer was enriched by those she was blessed to work with and care for. There will be no visitation by request. Together with family and friends we will celebrate her life at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Ken Weir as Celebrant. Interment will be in Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa, ON at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Extra-Mural Program, Fredericton Unit.
