DUNCAN, OPAL ROBERTEEN On Sunday, October 22nd, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Opal R. Duncan of Fredericton passed away at the age of 78. Born in Fredericton she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Grace (Meehan) LaPointe, and wife of the late Allan Duncan. Opal spent many years employed with Speedy Propane. She belonged to the Ladies Auxillary of the Rotyal Canadian Legion branch #4, and the Best Years Fellowship at the Wesleyan Church Opal was survived by her son Wayne Duncan (Wanda Matheson); two daughters Bonni Holland (Rick) and Cindy Duncan (Doug) all of Fredericton; granddaughters Janet Kernick of Ontario, Trisha Moore of Saint John, Erin Fullarton (John) and Lindsay Duncan all of Douglas; great grandchildren Sierra, Zachary and Jack; brother Bill LaPointe of Fredericton; sister Barbara Blunston of Fredericton. She was also predeceased by a sister Joyce and a grandson Allan Wayne Duncan. The family will receive friends at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton on Wednesday from 3:30-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the 1st Wesleyan Church on Duncan Lane on Thursday October 26th, 2006 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Karl Ingersoll officiating. Interment will be held at the Olivet Wesleyan Cemetery. The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary will hold a tribute on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
