CAMPBELL, M. MARGARET F. 1931-2006 Miramichi - Mary Margaret Frances Campbell, widow of the late George H. Campbell, of the North Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, October 30, 2006, at the age of 75. Born in Pictou, N.S., on July 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late G. Roy and Annie J. (MacKnight) Atkinson. She was a homemaker and, prior to retirement, was a teacher, by profession. She was a active and valued member of Carmel United Church, Napan; the current Clerk of Session of her church, as well as a member of Session. She was the first female to hold the position of Elder at Carmel United Church. She was a life member of the U.C.W. A member of the New Brunswick Teachers' Assoc., a member of the Miramichi Area Retired Teachers' Assoc. She is survived by one daughter, Helen Godfrey, of North Napan Road; two grandchildren, Linda Godfrey (Derek) and Darren Godfrey; one great grandchild, Xander Locke; three sisters, Helen MacKenzie (James), of North Napan Road, Shirley Kerr (George), of Brampton, Ont., Elizabeth Grasman (Peter), of Fredericton; one sister in law, Mary Atkinson, of Fredericton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 2002; one sister, Jean Atkinson; one brother, Archibald Atkinson. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, Miramichi, on Wednesday, from 7-9 pm and Thursday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Carmel United Church, on Friday, November 3, 2006, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Carmel United Church, the Black River Cemetery Fund, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
