GORDON WENDELL BAILEY

BAILEY, GORDON WENDELL Gordon Wendell Bailey of Ripples, NB, husband of Mary (Gormley) Bailey, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was 79 years old. Born in Fredericton he was the son of the late Arthur Bailey and Winnifred (Leonard) Bailey. Gordon worked in the lumber industry with his family and later joined the Navy during WWII. After completing his service career he was employed with Acadia Forestry, then DND as a civil servant as a painter, retiring in 1986. Gordon continued with sign painting during his retirement, he was also able to find time for golfing, fishing and hunting. Gordon was a long time member of the Minto Legion Branch No. 12 and a member of the St. Mary's Anglican Church. Besides his wife he is survived by on daughter, Linda Tibbitts of Ripples and his son Gordon (Yvette) Bailey of Minto, 5 grandchildren (Greg, Jason, Emily, Sarah, and Samuel), Sisters Nancy Bailey of Ottawa, Shirley (William) Goodfellow of Manotick, Beverly (Harold) Cockburn of Hamilton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by infant daughter, Janet Marie Bailey and brothers Douglas and Gerald Bailey and sister Phyllis (Wallace) Bird. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) with visiting on Tuesday evening from 7-8pm. Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM from the Parker Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 1st, 2006 with Rev. John Cathcart officiating. Interment will take place in Ripples Community Cemetery.
