
GEORGE EDWARD HAVELOCK BORDEN
BORDEN, GEORGE EDWARD HAVELOCK The death of George Edward Havelock Borden of New Bandon, NB, husband of Marlene (McAleer) Borden occurred on November 6, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Guysborough, NS, he was a son of the late Norman and Edith (Pelly) Borden. George retired after 30 years of service with the Canadian Armed Forces as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23, Doaktown and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Terry Mahoney (Shawn) and Tracy Borden both of St. Albert, AB; six grandchildren, Trevor, Christopher, Kevin, Lisa, Ryan and Kathleen; one sister Rita Borden of Montreal, PQ; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by two infant sons, Brent and Trevor; three brothers and six sisters. Although there will be no visitation, a Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 11 am from St. James The Greater Anglican Cemetery, Ludlow, NB with Father Andrew Fraser officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Doaktown are asked to assemble at St. James The Greater Anglican Cemetery, Ludlow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to St. James The Greater Anglican Church Memorial Fund or to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation (MRI Machine) would be appreciated by the family.
