HARRIS, BLANCHE It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Blanche Harris announces her passing. Blanche was born in Aldershot, England on April 25, 1917, coming to Canada at the age of ten. She was a daughter of the late John and Blanche (Attfield) Thorpe and wife of the late George Harris. Blanche was a registered nurse having graduated from the Victoria Public Hospital in 1939. She nursed for many years at the V.P.H. and as a private duty nurse. Blanche is survived by five children Margaret (Donald) Hogg of Sunny Bray, NS, Elizabeth Rice of Fredericton, Walter (Anne) Quartermain of Hoyt, Arthur (Stella) Quartermain of Fredericton, and James Harris; two step children Judy (Vernon) Randall and Wayne (Lydia) Harris; 14 grandchildren Mary Jamison, David Hogg, Karen MacDonald, Peter and Andrew Rice, Lisa Johnston, Christopher Quartermain, Sherry Holder, Kimberly, Shawn and Roger Quartermain, Katelyn and Travis Harris, Toni Harris; 15 great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. Predeceased by a brother John Thorpe; sister-in-law Barbara; and son-in-law Charles Rice. Visitation at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11:00 am. Interment in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
