
GORDON DUNCAN CAMPBELL
CAMPBELL, GORDON DUNCAN At his home in Fredericton, Gordon Campbell passed away at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Roderick Alexander and Edith Willard (Matthewson) Campbell. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years Phyllis May Campbell (Sivorn). Gordon was a RCAF pilot during World War II where he served overseas and subsequently met his wife Phyllis, who was a RAF member. She came to Canada as a warbride in 1946. Throughout his long career he held numerous positions in both Canada and England working for the City of Calgary, Department of Agriculture in Fort Vermilion Alberta as manager of the experimental farm, wholesale for a supply firm in Truro, N. S., and three years in England as an electrician. Gordon also worked as a TV and radio repairman in McAdam, NB. He was an electrical mechanic for Tractors and Equipment in Fredericton. The remainder of his working life was spent employed with the Federal Department of Fisheries as a maintenance manager at the Mactaquac Fish Culture station, where he was presented an award for designing an automatic fish feeding system. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the RCAFA. In his retirement, Gordon enjoyed playing cards at numerous venues in the local area, carpet bowling, emailing his friends and relatives, feeding his many species of birds and deer, photography and traveling. Gordon will always be remembered by all who knew him, as a fine devoted man. He is survived by his two daughters, Donna May Grant (Malcolm) and Sandra Ann Campbell both of New Maryland; one son Edward Alexander Campbell (Anne) of Langley BC; one sister Jean Campbell; two brothers Willard Campbell (Terry) and George Campbell (Esther) all of Alberta; his grandchildren Jodi Lynn Daley (Jeffery), Gregory Gordon Grant (Kim), Laura Ann Wilson, Kelsey Ann Wilson, Denea Anne Marie Campbell, Corey Anne Campbell; one great grandson, Evan Grant Daley, a sister-in-law Rose Smallwood of England and many nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his sister Phyllis Campbell, Alberta. Visitation at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd, on Tuesday November 21st 2006, from 7 to 9 pm. The service will take place at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Woodstock Road on Wednesday November 22nd, 2006 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb and Canon Tom Smith officiating. Internment will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to the charity of your choice. The Royal Canadian Legion branch #4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
