LYONS, EUGENE MURRAY The passing of Eugene Murray Lyons, husband of the late Nellie Mae (Munn) Lyons, of Holtville, NB, occurred on December 4, 2006 at the Veteran's Health Unit, Fredericton, NB. Born on June 19, 1921 in Holtville, NB, he was a son of the late Justice and Gertrude (Brown) Lyons. Eugene was a carpenter by trade. He served during the second World War and is a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch # 78, Boiestown. Mr. Lyons is survived by six daughters, Catherine Shay of Victoria, BC, Mercia Mercer of London, ON, Dorothy (Wallace) Colford of Blissfield, Mary (Leo) Veno of Doaktown, Trecia (Melvin) Robichaud of Doaktown and Norma (Bradley) Smith of Boiestown; five sons, Lee of Holtville, Gary (Ruth) of Bloomfield, Harry (Wendy) of Holtville, Irvine of Boiestown and Phillip Lyons; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Lynch of Holtville and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by five children; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Gladys Ross, Winnifred Munn and Helen Turner; four brothers, Henry, Walter, Harold and Frank Lyons. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch #78, Boiestown are asked to assemble at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Funeral Service will beheld on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 2 pm with Rev. Beverly Daley and Pastor Robert Hanson officiating. Pallbearers are Wally Lynch, Murray Ross, Aaron and Alex Smith, Justice (J.C.) Lyons and Richard Mercer. Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Munn, Garth Hunter, Merle Hunter, Gene Clowater, James Strachan, Kenneth Dobson and Hilton Brawn. Interment to take place at Cameron Hill Cemetery, Cameron Hill, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
