AIKEN, DANIEL MACLEAN The death of Daniel Aiken of Oromocto, NB peacefully occurred on Sunday, December 31st, 2006 surrounded by his family. Born in Stanchel PEI on December 10, 1927, son of the late Alexander Aiken and Phoebe Todd. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Muriel (Peardon); children, Sharon (Tim) Grant of Edmonton, Cathy (Wendel) Covey of St. Stephen, NB, Alex (Maureen) Aiken of Oromocto and Debi (Eric) Maniloff of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, James and Rebecca Grant, Ian and Alistair Covey, Jeremy and Nicholas Aiken and Juliet and Isaac Maniloff; sisters, Catherine Buell of Charlottetown, PEI and Ann Wilson of London, Ontario and several nieces and nephews and predeceased by sister, Violet Newell and brother, Robert Aiken. Daniel retired from the Canadian Military in 1978 he then became the Chief X-Ray Technician at the Oromocto Public Hospital and retired from there in 1993. Visitation will be held from Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating.
