HANS GUNTHER WOBEKING
WOBEKING, HANS GUNTHER Hans Gunther Wobeking, age 80, passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center in Upper Nappan, N.S., Tuesday, 9 January 2007. He and his wife, Irmgard, recently moved to Amherst to be near their daughter Helen and son-in-law Jim. Born in Osnabruck Germany, he was a veteran of the Second World War. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 and was a proud Canadian. He was a hard rock miner working in many mines in Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick. Throughout their many moves he and his wife maintained their lifelong interest in rabbits, raising, showing and selling throughout Canada and the Northeastern USA. Gunther was a longtime vender at the Boyce Market in Fredericton, NB. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Irmgard, son Robert of Edmonton, AB, daughter Audrey of Edmonton, AB, daughter Helen (Jim) Triff of Amherst, NS, and grandson Christopher of Edmonton, AB. He is also survived by a sister Ursel, one niece and two nephews in Germany. His parents and only brother all in Germany predeceased him. Remains have been cremated, and funeral service will be held at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906) on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev.
