VENKATESAN (VENKY), (MAJOR) VENUGOPALAN Passed away peacefully in Chennai India on January 17,2007. Born in 1919, Venky was married to Sundara Bashyam for the past 62 years. He served the British army and the Indian army. Upon retirement as a Major he joined Ashok Leyland Ltd. Chennai and served them for several years prior to moving to Fredericton. Fond lover of South Indian classical music, cricket, tennis game shows and walking Venky enjoyed the company of people . He is survived by loving wife Sundara, six loving daughters (son- in-laws), Chandra (Balaji), Meera (Gopinath), Radha (Pandiyan), and Chandini (Srinivasan) of Chennai, Raji (Rajagopalan) of Bangalore and Kalyani (Srinivasan) of Fredericton, ten grand children and one great grand son. Cremation will take place on the 18th in Chennai. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
