MCTIERNAN, JEANNE JULIENNE The death of Jeanne Julienne McTiernan of Minto, New Brunswick occurred peacefully at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, New Brunswick on Sunday, January 21, 2007. Jean was born on August 30, 1920 in Thorburn, Nova Scotia to Mary (LeRoy) and John Doumont. She was raised and lived her entire life in Minto, where she met and married her husband Joseph McTiernan in 1943. Jean was a charter member of the Catholic Women's League at Holy Rosary Parish in Minto. She enjoyed doing beautiful needlework for family and friends, loved to play bingo and her homemade cakes with boiled frosting were legendary. As the wife of a firefighter for sixty years, she also spent many hours calling the men into service. Jean is survived by her daughters Karen Robertson (Don) of Ottawa, ON and Mary Ellen Kilfillen (Gary) of Woodstock, NB; by her grandchildren Maureen Edgar of Ottawa, ON, Stephanie Gaudette (Jeff) of Penobsquis, NB, Justin Best of Ottawa, ON, Andrew Robertson of Fredericton, NB, Stephen Robertson of Ottawa, ON, Matthew Kilfillen of Moncton, NB, Sarah Kilfillen of Fredericton, NB; and one great grandchild, Kurtis Edgar. In addition to her parents, brothers and sisters, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2003, daughters Maureen Best-Glenn in 2002 and Lynda Fay in 1988, son-in-law Robert Best in 1980, and granddaughter Melanie Jo Best in 1977. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, January 25th, 2007 from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will take place in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, N.B.
