AMOS, VILDA VIOLET CATHERINE The death of Vilda Violet Catherine Amos, age 102, of Doaktown, wife of the late Richard Amos, occurred on February 18, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on September 21, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Annie Amelia (Lyons) Clowater. Mrs. Amos was a member of St. Thomas United Church, Life Member of the United Church Women and a member of the Miramichi Friendship Club. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by seven daughters, Gladys Stephens of Fredericton, Alice Robinson of Doaktown, Eva Ward (Vingie) of Doaktown, Marilyn Hovey of Doaktown, Donna Munn (Willard) of Doaktown, Edna Carson (Donald) of Holtville and Sharon Flowers of Stony Plain, AB; six sons, Charles (Barbara) of Doaktown, Percy (Betty) of Fredericton, Otto (Shirley) of Chipman, Haviland (Shirley) of Doaktown, Arnold (Pat) of Lakeville Corner, and Wayne (Kathleen) of Doaktown; 42 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Amos was predeceased by one sister, Norma McKay and one brother, Mearl Clowater. Visitation will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 2 pm from St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, NB with Rev. Heather Froats officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Thomas United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Self Help or to the United Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
