HOLDER, RONALD ROBERT At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday March 7, 2007 Ronald Robert Holder of Fredericton, most recently residing at the Veteran's Heath Unit, passed away at the age of 89. Born in Holderville, NB he was a son of the late Arthur and Vara (Lyons) Holder. Ronald served overseas during World War II, beginning with the NB Rangers and then with the 14th Field R.C.A. In 1948 he went with Coca Cola Ltd as a driver, eventually becoming a supervisor until 1960. From 1961 -1983 he was a wholesale distributor for McCain Foods Ltd, as well as a Provincial Ambulance Inspector for 8 years. Upon retirement, he served with the Corps of Commissionaires for 10 years. He was a member of Saint Mary's Anglican Church, McEvoy Street; a member of Hiram #6 Masonic Lodge, United Commercial Travellers; Fredericton Curling Club; Charter Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 62 Moss Glen and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 4. Ronald was an avid curler and gardener. He is survived by his wife Ruby; two sons Brian and his wife Merry Lynn of Fredericton and Richard of Toronto; three sisters Chris Marshall of Reids Point, NB, Mildred Sheldrick of Clifton, NB, and Barbara Holman of Lexington, Massachusetts; a granddaughter Natalie; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 1st wife Greta in 1971 and a son Larry in 1948. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, where visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Requiem Eucharist will be held from St. Mary's Anglican Church, McEvoy Street, Fredericton on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 am with Father Ian Wetmore officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7 pm. Pallbearers for the service will be Gary Gray, Gene McGinnis, Neill Watt, Gary Murdock, Andy Holyoke & Jamie Marshall. Honorary Pallbearers are Edward Veitch & Ronald Johnson.
