GERALD DOBBELSTEYN
DOBBELSTEYN, GERALD The passing of Gerald Matthew Dobbelsteyn, of Riverside Drive, Lower St. Mary's, husband of June (Larsen) Dobbelsteyn, occurred on March 14, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 14, 1939 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mary (Cook) Dobbelsteyn. Gerald was one of the owners of the Dobbelsteyn group of companies. He was a member of the Elks Club, Electrical Contractors Association and the John Howard Society and was an avid boater. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tracey Dobbelsteyn of Fredericton; two sons, Danny Dobbelsteyn (Susan) of Douglas and Perry Dobbelsteyn (Karen) of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Cody, Brandon, Alec and William; two sisters, Anne Marie Barton of British Columbia and Pauline Mott (Bob) of Fredericton Junction; two brothers, Joseph Dobbelsteyn (Mary) of Fredericton and Francis Dobbelsteyn (Judy) of Rusagonis and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Ernie. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Elks Club will be having a Tribute Service at 7:15 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 1 William Street, on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 12 noon with Father John Jennings officiating. Pallbearers are Cody, Brandon and Alec Dobbelsteyn, Doug Homer, Perley Drummond and Ed Parker. Honourary Pallbearer is Shane Scott. Interment will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Lincoln, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
