MACDONALD, MINNIE ELIZABETH It was on Sunday, March 18, 2007, that Minnie Elizabeth MacDonald left this earthly life and heeded the gentle and loving call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to enter her heavenly home. Minnie was 99. Born December 26, 1907 in Rear Maugerville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Albert Arthur & Elizabeth (Curtis) McCoy. Minnie was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a faithful member of the Capital Community Church in Marysville, a strong supporter of the church Foreign Missions Department and the Northeast Christian College (UPC) in Marysville. She was an avid knitter. Minnie leaves behind eight loving and devoted children, two daughters, Ruby Thompson (Fred) of Fredericton and Elizabeth Larlee (Howard) of Langley, BC; six sons, John (Dorothy) of Fredericton, Ralph (Marg) of Welsford, George (Loy) of Fredericton, Paul (Ardith) of Kingsclear, Kenneth (Marilyn) and Thomas (Jane) both of Saint John. Her memory will be forever treasured and cherished by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Minnie also leaves behind her brother Ivan McCoy (Eva) of Maugerville and her sister, Hazel Johnston of Wirral, NB. A son-in-law, Kenneth Mersereau of Fredericton; nieces and nephews also survive her. Predeceased by her husband, Irven George MacDonald; a daughter Marion Mersereau; a granddaughter Bonny Lynn Lyons; four sisters, Rita Merrithew, Alice Michaud, Helen Rickard and Violet Canney; four brothers, Edward, Lloyd, George and Donald McCoy. Resting at the Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., Fredericton, where visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A celebration of Minnie's life will be held from the church on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM. wth her grandson, Rev. Brad Thompson officiating assisted by Rev. Ed Grant. Pallbearers will be her six sons. Interment in the Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
