EUGENE NORRIS MACDONALD
MACDONALD, EUGENE NORRIS The passing of Eugene Norris MacDonald, husband of I. Mavis (Lyons) MacDonald, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on March 19, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 19, 1920, in Temperance Vale, NB, he was a son of the late Edgar and Harriott (Yerxa) MacDonald. Eugene operated a family business, MacDonald's Restaurant, for 5 years and was also a painter. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton; enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a great love for animals. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark (Kelly) of Edmonton, AB; one daughter, Carol (Leigh) Walsh of Mississauga, ON; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Dale; five sisters, Dorothy, Edith, Helen, Marjorie and Claudia; two brothers, Ellis and Arnold. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2 pm with Rev. John Cathcart officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton are asked to assemble at the Funeral Home Saturday at 2 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembrances made to the Fredericton S.P.C.A., the Alzheimer's Society, York Manor Nursing Home or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
