WILLIAM WALKER MCLAUGHLIN

MCLAUGHLIN, WILLIAM WALKER Capt. William Walker McLaughlin of Oromocto, NB, passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on April 5th, 2007 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Apohaqui, NB, on June 2nd, 1948, he was the son of Fred Andrew McLaughlin and the late Mabel Irene (Wright) McLaughlin. He was a full time Firefighter for the Town of Oromocto, a career spanning thirty-six years. He was a member of the Gage Golf and Curling Club and not only enjoyed the curling but all the social activities that went along with it. Willie was an avid out doorsman, loved to hunt, fish and spend time at his beloved cottage on French Lake. Survived by his wife, Marie, one daughter, Tammy-Lee McLaughlin; one grandson, Kevin William McLaughlin; four brothers, Murray (Lori), Kevin (Verginia), Travis (Joyce) and Terry John (John Swaine); two sisters; Jean (Fred) Kuhn and Donna (Pierre Robichaud) McLaughlin, and a large and loving extended family. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, April 6th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Oromocto United Church on Saturday, April 7th, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Bob McDowell will officiate. A reception will follow at the Gage Golf and Curling Club.
