BARBARA DUPLESSIS

DUPLESSIS, BARBARA Barbara Mildred Duplessis, age 89, of the Glen Haven Manor and formerly of High Crest Place and Brother Street Seniors, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born September 2, 1917 in Nashwaak Bridge, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Murray) McCrae. She was a graduate of Normal School and Business College in Fredericton. She worked for C.N.R. for 30 years in Moncton and Edmonton, Alberta and then worked as a receptionist for Dr. MacQuarrie, Dr. Barclay and Dr. Park. She was a member of Trinity United Church, where she served as an elder and was a member of the U.C.W. She was a member of the Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by daughter, Barbara (Gerald) MacDonald, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Susan (Terry) Harper, Fort McMurray, Steve (Karen) MacDonald, New Glasgow, Heather (Brian) McKay, Lake Echo, Lisa (Bob) Billard, Musquodoboit Harbour, Jennifer (Trevor) Holmes, Foxbrook; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Ferne Coughlan, Nashwaak Bridge, NB; five nieces. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Murray; sister, Mae. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 pm Tuesday in Trinity United Church with Lori Crocker, DM officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Nashwaak Bridge, NB. Donations in her memory may be made to Trinity United Church or a charity of choice.
