PETROSSIE, ALFRED RICARDO (FRED) Alfred Ricardo (Fred) Petrossie, husband of Judi (Norris) passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, May 08, 2007 after a valiant struggle with cancer. At the time of his death he was a Superintendent for Milestone Construction and was well liked and respected by his peers. Fred was an avid gardener in his spare time. One of the great joys in his life was his best friend and companion, Dylan, his Corgi, whom he loved to take to the green and walk the old train bridge. The greatest joy though was Judi, his wife, who never wavered in her love and devotion for him. His voice was full of pride for his sons, Joey and Todd whom, in turn, adored him. Cancer took his life, but not his sense of humor, gentleness and his love of life. He will forever be loved and missed. Besides his wife and two sons, he was survived by his father, Marcel Petrossie; seven brothers, Philip, David (Margaret), Michael (Jane), Carl, Lanny (Roxanne), Jan (Rita) and Lonny all of Halifax, NS; five sisters, Lucy Adams (Jack), Sharon Dann (Walter), Cally Hovey (Lloyd), Donna Pothier (Charles) and Janice Little (Keith) all of Halifax, NS; one half sister, Margaret Fleet (Bruce) of Halifax, NS; mother-in-law, Betty Thompson (Herman) of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Bonnie Dempsey (Dan) of Fredericton; two brothers-in-law, Brian Norris (Linda) of Kingston, ON and John Norris (Kim) of Plaster Rock, NB. He was predeceased by his mother, Jennie (Fleet) Petrossie and one brother, John. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 11 am from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Culberson officiating. Reception to follow. Private family interment will follow in Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Fredericton SPCA or to the Special Olympics would be appreciated by the family.
