MRS. EVA M. (O'CONNOR) DELANEY
DELANEY, MRS. EVA M. (O'CONNOR) It is with sadness that the death of Mrs. Eva M. (O'Connor) Delaney of Palmetto, Florida, is announced by her family. She passed away peacefully at the Manatee Hospital in Florida on May 11, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Delaney was born in Harvey, N.B., in April, 1923. She was one of four children of her parents Mary (Long) and Frederick O'Connor. She graduated from the Riverside Consolidated School and followed with Secretarial Training which was pursued at No. 5 RCAF Depot during the war years, before training as a nurse at St, Mary's Hospital in Montreal. After working at St. Mary's for several years, she graduated from Ottawa University with a B. Of Nursing and followed that with positions of Administration in Montreal - Tampa, Florida - and Fredericton. In 1978 she married J. Michael Delaney of Montreal and they moved some years later to Palmetto, Florida. Mrs. Delaney was predeceased by her parents and an older sibling, Sister Imelda O'Connor of the Sisters of Charity of Saint John, N.B. She is survived by her husband, Michael Delaney, her younger sister Florence Smith of Kelowna, B.C. and her brother Arthur J. O'Connor of Fredericton as well as numerous nieces and nephews in N.B., Ontario, Alberta and B.C. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on May 16 at Holy Cross Church in Palmetto and interment will take place later at the family burial plot in Riverside, New Brunswick. The family wishes to thank the many relatives, friends and medical people involved for their wonderful support and sympathy.
