POWELL, GORDON ROBERT Gord passed away peacefully in his 49th year on Thursday May 17, 2007 in Scarborough Ontario, after a brief battle with cancer. Dear son of Elma Powell and the late John Powell of Toronto. Beloved husband of Stephanie Phillips-Powell and devoted father of Connor. Brother to Donna Powell and Yolanda Wannamaker. Brother-in-law of Stacee Stoeckle (nee Phillips), Andrew Stoeckle and Jack Heeren. Cherished son-in-law of Ernest Phillips and Myrtle Patriquen and the late Elva Phillips (nee Astle). Uncle of Rebecca, Bailee, Kiri, Garrett, Dylan and Joshua. He was made an honorary New Brunswicker by family and friends in Fredericton and Carroll's Crossing. Gord enjoyed his annual hunting trips and vacation at the family camp on the Miramichi. Gord will be missed by his family and his many good friends. Visitations will be held at Pine Hills Chapel, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ont. (416)-267-8229, Monday May 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. A service to celebrate Gord's life will be held in the chapel on Tuesday May 22 at 1100 AM. If desired, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
