Mrs. Dorothy Rice , age 88 of Moose Jaw passed away suddenly on October 6, 2008. Born in 1920 at Ormiston, she lived in Ormiston, Galilee, Mayberry and the Moose Jaw districts. Dorothy farmed with her first husband, Bert Barton who passed away in 1957. For a short time she operated the Snack Bar at Con's Corner. Dorothy became at Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in her 40's and worked for many years in Moose Jaw hospitals while farming with her second husband, Chester Rice until retiring to Moose Jaw. He passed away in the spring of 2007. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Lily Jukes, her first husband Bert Barton, second husband, Chester Rice, daughter, Mae Sinclair, her sister, Mae Neveroski, son-in-law, Ralph Sinclair, her brother, Bill Jukes, and brother-in-law, Ignace Neveroski, Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jean (Jim) Herring, son, Wayne (Sharon) Barton, brother, Harrel (Marj) Jukes, sister-in-law, Violet Jukes; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2.
