JOHN ALLAN DICAIRE
DICAIRE, JOHN ALLAN John Allan Dicaire, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at 59 years of age on June 5, 2007 with his family by his side at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. John was born on November 30, 1947 in St. Catherine's ON, and was pre-deceased by his mother, Margo Dicaire (Gallant) of PEI. John his survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda (nee Fraser); children, Allison McCoy (Jason) of Sheffield, NB, son, Mark (Andrea) of Massachusetts and daughters Lindsey of Fredericton, NB; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Hunter and William; father, Paul Dicaire and sister, Carole Shepherd (David) of Oakville, ON. In 2005, John was reunited with his birth mother, Birdie Chapman of Monetville, ON and enjoyed a brief but loving relationship with her and his new extended family. John graduated from Saint Mary's University with a BA, from Dalhousie with an MBA and the University of Ottawa with a degree in Health Administration. Following graduation, he worked in the Health sector in Nova Scotia, Ontario and New Brunswick. Most recently he was an Assistant Deputy Minister with the New Brunswick Government in the Department of Finance. John enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with friends and family, gardening and woodworking and was a handyman extraordinaire. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation will take place from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 1 William Street, Fredericton on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 12 noon with Father John Jennings as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
