APPLEBY, ANNA ELVA Anna E. Appleby of Woodstock and formerly of Waterville, York County passed away June 9, 2007 at Carleton Memorial Hospital. Anna was born in Waterville in 1921, a daughter of the late Manzer and Zula (Stairs) Turner. She was a housewife and also worked as a caregiver at a special care home for several years. Anna's hobbies and interests included gardening, walks in the woods, visiting and socializing with her many close friends and crafts. She loved babies, which led to knitting and donating baby clothes to hospitals. Anna was a member of Sure Life Assembly in Nackawic and previously had served in the Waterville United Pentecostal Church as a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her children, Mavis Alain (Roger), St. Stephen, Marcus Pike (Joyce), Waterville, York County, Anita Murray (Lee), Woodstock and Dwayne Pike (Rena), Woodstock; a sister, Mildred Pike, Temperance Vale; a brother, Stanley Turner (Hilda), East Newbridge; a son-in-law, Steve Flinn, Alberta; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her first husband, Burpee Pike; her second husband, Perley Appleby; two daughters, Nila Flinn; and infant, Linda Louise; and a brother, Burley Turner. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lloyd Pangburn officiating. Interment will be in Waterville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cpl. Robert Findlay; and grandsons, Colin Pike, Darren Pike, Jason Pike, Trevor Pike and Terence Murray.
