Date de naissance : 19 février 1917
Date de décès : 12 octobre 2008
Mitchell Kenneth Gordon Mitchell, age 91 years of William Albert House in Emerald Park, formerly of Cardross, Sask. passed away with family by his side on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Dad was born in Calgary, Alberta on February 19, 1917. Dad is survived by his children: Ian (Linda), Cameron (Janice), Bonnie (Al) Storer, Wade (Karen), Darrell (Carol); grandchildren: Corinna (Jason) Beaudin, Tana (Steve Burrows), Kimberly; Graham (Deanna), Warren, Darren (Delayne); Jennifer (Kelvin Deconinck), Kevin Storer; Evan, Drew, Gillian; great-grandchildren: Aida; Emmett, Milo; Deklen; Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Johnathan and Tyler; sister in-law Marguerite Mitchell, brother in-law George (Marion) Smith; sister in-law Madeline Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy 'Isabelle' Mitchell (nee Smith); his parents, Charles and Alice Mitchell, and his brother and sister, Cyril Mitchell and Thelma Mitchell. Dad married Nancy 'Isabelle' Smith on December 21, 1944 and resided on the family farm at Cardross until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1991. Dad's entire life revolved around two passions, his family and the farm. Dad took over the family farm from his father in 1945, and together he and Mom worked tirelessly to raise our family. Dad was a very private individual and took great pride in his children's accomplishments and equally in his farming endeavors. Our Dad could fix anything - given time and a reason. A close friend once was heard to say that Dad could grow grain on a concrete driveway. He kept abreast of the latest agricultural methods and techniques by burying himself in farm literature when he was not executing what he had studied. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at St. Andrews United Church, 60 Athabasca Street East, Moose Jaw, Sask at 1:30 p.m. As tokens of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Ken Mitchell may be made to the charity of your choice.
